Canberra handbag label Sash & Belle celebrated its first birthday on Sunday 1 February. Kristy McPhillips, the creator of Sash & Belle said it has been a great first year with so many achievements and challenges. “We have had significant achievements during 2014, we released our first autumn/spring line at an official launch in April, and we’ve had great local media coverage. We also presented the Dress Me Up charity fashion event in September 2014 with other leading local fashion boutiques, and raised $2,602 for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. We hope to be able to do further charity events during 2015.”

Their Facebook page has already cracked the 1000 likes mark, as women increasingly look towards the beautiful range of stylish handbags, clutches and wallets. “I think what sets our handbags apart from store bags, is the fact that the style is new and fresh, something that people haven’t seen before and that both our leather and faux leather products are so affordable.” says Kristy. “I want to make Sash & Belle a well-known label, something that you might see in many stores one day.

Kristy is expanding the brand in rural and regional areas this year, and will have a stall in the Lifestyle Pavilion at the Royal Canberra Show from 27 February – 1 March, and are also looking at selling their handbags wholesale to retailers. “Selling to retailers would be something new for us and we hope that it will only lead to bigger and better things for us and our customers.
