FASHFEST—Opening Night Rocks Canberra #fashfest

Mingled with the beautiful people last night (30 April) at FASHFEST 2014 opening night. The champagne flowed, the selfies smiled, the VIPs were very … VIP, and the taste of anticipation was almost too much to bear.
As Magnifik pumped out the beat, the models strutted their stuff to rapturous applause.
The darling Darling Sisters classic vintage wear (think Marilyn Monroe in Some Like it Hot) suits all shapes and sizes, and WND.LND gave us playful pastels with both designers favouring high waists, gorgeous play dresses, and comfy, casual street wear.
Group14:Stage Label designer collective pulled off an awesome black and white theme for both men and women—the women were mainly sleek and glam (very Garbo style) and the menswear looked cosy enough for a cold Canberra night.
Reneira’s look was polished, classic and professional—cutting edge clothes that could be work for work or play, and CIT’s 2014 Graduating Class showcased their talent with a mix of ‘out there’, casual, and professional styles—watch out for these designers next year. Also getting in on opening night was the jewel of the sea, Percival Luto.
LFW and the team from Surya Magazine will be at FASHFEST over the four nights and will update here!
